Case summary

Section 25 of the Ordinance is yet to be brought into force. The charge against Christopher Moore is dismissed as not being properly before the court.  The Revised Edition of the Laws Ordinance Cap 1.02 stipulates at section 10(1) that a revised edition of the Law prepared under the Revised Edition of the Laws Ordinance shall be the authoritative version of the law on the effective date in an Order made by the Attorney General.  This Ordinance also mandates at section 10(4) that the revised edition of the Laws shall be deemed to be, “without question the sole authentic edition of the Laws of the Islands in respect of the law contained therein and in force on the relevant revision date”.  Paras 10-11
